The American Bar Association (ABA) is a voluntary bar association of lawyers and law students; it is not specific to any jurisdiction in the United States. Founded in 1878, the ABA's stated activities are the setting of academic standards for law schools, and the formulation of model ethical codes related to the legal profession. As of fiscal year 2017, the ABA had 194,000 dues-paying members, constituting approximately 14.4% of American attorneys. In 1979, half of all lawyers in the U.S. were members of the ABA. The organization's national headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois, and it also maintains a significant branch office in Washington, D.C. Read more
The Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) is an autonomous statutory body constituted under Advocates Act, 1961 with and having wide varied powers, functions and duties. The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) is an association of dedicated lawyers that serves the legal profession and the public. It delivers this service by promoting the administration of justice, legal education, professional excellence and respect for the law. DHCBA aims to promote and project the privileges, rights, interests and prestige of the Association and its members and to promote unity and cooperation amongst advocates and other Association of Advocates. The IAEL was officially founded in 1977 at the MIDEM, the main international trade fair of the music business held each January in Cannes, France. Over the past 45 years, the IAEL has come to fulfil a unique role for lawyers involved in the industry throughout the world. It has expanded enormously in terms of both the numbers of its members and the scope of its activities. Nonetheless, continuity of membership combined with the energy of its officers, past and present, mean that the Association's style remains distinctly personal. IAEL members are all lawyers, either in private practice or industry, or those training in the law, whose areas of interest and expertise cover any aspect of entertainment law. Read more
The International Trademark Association is a global association of brand owners and professionals dedicated to trademarks and complementary intellectual property to foster consumer trust, economic growth, and innovation, and committed to building a better society through brands. The association's nearly 6,500 member organizations from 165 countries represent more than 34,000 trademark professionals and include brand owners from major corporations as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, law firms, and nonprofits. There are also government agency members as well as individual professor and student members. The Licensing Executives Society International, or LES International (LESI, or formally "LES International, Inc."), is a not for profit, non-political, umbrella organization having 33 national and regional member societies, interested in technology transfer or licensing of intellectual property rights - from technical know-how and patented inventions to software, copyright and trademarks. It was founded in 1973, and incorporated in 2000 in the United States. As of 2019, LESI has approximately 9,000 individual members in 90 countries, including representatives of companies, scientists, engineers, academicians, governmental officials, lawyers, patent and trademark attorneys, and consultants". LESI publishes a quarterly journal called les Nouvelles. The organization was one of eight trade organizations to participate in the World Intellectual Property Day 2022 event produced by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Read more
